I am unable to install SsonicWall GVC. I get the following error:
UpdateDriversForPlugAndPlayDevices failed - virtual adapter can not be installed.
Error =
path = 'C:\PROGRA~1\SonicWALL\SonicWALL Global VPN Client\Drivers\netRCVPN.inf'

When I click OK I get the following message:
ReinstallVirtualAdapter() failed

Again, when I click on OK I get:
Failed to install the virtual adapter!

The install completes after that. However, when I run SonicWALL GVC, highlight a connection and click on Enable I get the following message:
The connection "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" requires the use of the SonicWall Virtual Adapter, however this adapter can not be found. It may have been disabled or uninstalled. Please check your network configuration.

I am running MS Windows Vista on my laptop. I have no problem running the same system from my office using a desktop/Windows XP.
I have already followed all recommendations that I found on the net, i.e. turned off firewall, unistalled, cleaned the computer running winfix.exe, etc.

Please help. Thanks,

Fuad

As with most Vista issues, have you tried disabling UAC and logging in as Administrator to do this?

Also, you don't specify which version you're trying, but the page at:
    http://www.sonicwall.com/us/2113_vista.html
seems to imply that GVC 4.0 or above should work on Vista-32, but NO versions will work on Vista-64.  You may wish to contact SonicWall directly to determine if your version of GVC is supported on your version of Vista.

Yes, I logged in as Administrator, disabled UAC. I am using GVC version 4.0.0.835, my windows version is Vista-32.
I believe that my problem started by initially running GVC version 2.2, which i had used in the past to install on my office desktop (WinXP). Unistall never cleaned the computer fully. Finally, after unistalling/cleaning and deleting all related files/folders, i backed up my registry/created a restore point and then manually cleaned the registry, rebooted, while Firewall is off, and re-installed, and voila...
So far (two hours have passed) everything has been working just fine.
Thanks for your help,

Hello,

I am getting the same error message when trying to install GVC SonicWall 4.2.6 on Windows 2000 service pack 4 -- except for the INF file which is "netSWVNIC.inf" instead:

UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices(2) failed - virtual adapter can not be installed.
Error = No data is available.
path = 'C:\Program Files\SonicWALL\SonicWALL Global VPN Client\ ... \netSWVNIC.inf'

I tried just about everything I could, including a clean up of the "Deterministic Network Enhancer", with no luck.  How can I get SonicWall VPN client installed on my system?

Hi - No idea why this question has been closed as there doesn't seem to be a resolution to the Sonicwall Global  VPN issue.

I get the same error when trying to install Sonicwall GlobalPVN on Windows 7 Pro, 32 bit

UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices(2) failed - virtual adapter can not be installed.
Error = The system cannot find the file specified.

Path = "C:\Program Files\SonicWall\SonicWall Global VPN Client\...\netSWVNIC.inf

I am logged in as administrator and have deactivated UAC. Also installed Deterministic Networks Update:  ftp://files.citrix.com/dneupdate.msi for 32-bit

Global VPN Client version: 4.26.0305

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.
