blocking traffic on my Network

I just bought a new Dir 655 Dlink router.  When I used the program TCP viewer I see alot of advertisement and other things like Euroclick , akamaitechnologies, and other things going on in the background.   I would like to know how could I block all of these  in the background advertisements ,  trojans  and tracking cookies going on thats slowing down my internet viewing and usage with my router?

Hi,

To block viruses you need an ANTI-Virus solution. To block the adwares you need an anti-adware. To block the spywares you need anti-spyware. Same goes so malwares. You must be having an AV solution. You need something like spy sweeper;

You need an internet filter product to block certain websites, like websense or WFilter.
