backup Exec doesnt back up Information Store

hi all,
i have the following issue: i have exchange 2007 sp1,two server 2008 DC,all is 64bit.

on my backup/fileserver i have symantec backup exec 12.5 sp1 installed and want to backup exchange.

i used to have a public folder store, but didnt use it,so i deleted it.now BE 12.5 does not backup because it cannot find a public folder database.

what shall i do: do i need to remove all PB folder settings in AD by using adsiedit or whats the correct way to fix this?

Yes, you need to run through your selections in BE 12.5 and de-select the Public Folder Store.

That being said, your backup should complete but fail, as it will skip over the PF and backup everything else :)

heres the point: theres no public folder visible in the selection, but the error message shows up as follows:

Error category    : Resource ErrorsError             : e000ff02 - One or more of the databases for this storage group are currently dismounted.  This backup is incomplete.  Make sure that all databases are mounted, and then resubmit the backup job.
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-65282

there is no storage group dismounted.

But your PF SG is dismounted as far as BE is seeing.

As the error suggests, the backup is incomplete, i.e. the PF's are not included. De-select them from your Backup routine and test tonight.

i have deleted everything which is related to public folder: database, logs, etc.

in BE 12.5,the only thing whihc is visible is the first storage group where the information store is on. theres no public folder store anywhere.

do i need to clean anything with adsiedit? i can see that the PF store is under deleted objects..maybe thats why

in the meantime, this seems to be solved halfway:

the newest error message is that the public folder store cannot be mounted, but it is mounted and running.
