Crystal Reports - putting a header on the lowest drilldown level which doesn't appear on level above

I have a crystal report in version 8.5.0.217

It drills down to three levels.
The format is as follows:

Report Header
.Page Header
..Group header 1    - shows employee overall totals
...Group header 2 - drills down to list of transactions
....Details - drills down to trans details
...Group Footer 2
..Group footer 1
Report Footer
.Page Footer

It all works nicely except I need a header on the details level.  When I try to do that the header also shows on the previous level so what I end up with is the correct header on the details but the also on the summary above it.  Any help appreciated.

I don't think it is possible in CR8.5.  Later versions have a GroupDrillDownLevel value which can be used to control the display/suppression of the group headers.

What if you used a subreport for the tranactions details?
Then it could contain it's own headers...

I think you use conditional suppression

Right click the header in the left margin
Click SECTION EXPERT
Clcik the formula button next to SUPPRESS
DrillDownGroupLevel <> x  where x is the current group level

When you drill into Group2 what headers do you want to show?

When you drill into the details what headers do you want to show?

Group 2 works fine - I can see the Group 2 headers but when I drill into the details I need to be able to see a header that doesn't appear on Group 2 also.  Just need some way to put a header on the details part.  The subreport above does the job alright but I'd prefer if there's a solution to do it all in one.

You could add another group and put the header information in it.
The group could be on a formula like
If {field1} = {Field1} THEN
 'a'
ELSE
 'b'

Just put the header info and no group name in the new group header

Thanks for your help. I have had to go with the subreport option but I appreciate the effort put in by mlmcc although I couldn't decipher that solution.  I have halved the points between the two.
