This will be a security issues and or Driver issues, is the Vista machine member on the Domain or is there a Domain, is the printer a network printer and a PC printer share. If it is a PC share then it will be security, Vista is differant in alot of ways when it comes network security, i have issues with it on my W3k domain connecting to XP printer shares but most of the time it is drivers.

yeah the PC is a member of the domain, and the printer is a network printer.
Everytime I try and connect it finds the printer ok, then I try and install and it shows a install driver box I click ok and then it says access denied.
Download and install the Vista 32bit or 64bit printer drivers onto the vista PC first and then try and connect to the printer.

What type of printer and type of vista.
weird I have just removed that account from domain admins and re-added it - restarted the PC and the drivers have installed.
Only problem is I don't want that account to be in the domain admins group full time.
That makes scene, Permissions issue, ensure the user is added to the PC users list as an Administrator and that should solve that problem.
where would i do this?
