The drive shows a constant power light and a rapidly flashing error light.  According to the manual, this indicates some sort of hardware error.  Is there anyway I can find out what this hardware error is?

If you are going to deal with Dell I suggest before calling you update the firmware of the drive, as this is there standard responce before dealing with a problem, it will also depend on wether the device is still in warranty, it may help if you get the number for the server support line as opposed to the pc support line.

In the UK even though machines are out if warranty the server guys often help diagnose an issue.
