Have a user with Autocad 2005 LT on a Toughbook CF-30 running XP Pro, and the problem just started, when saving a drawing, the computer freezes up. He can move the mouse, but the program just goes into perpetual nothingness. The only way to close out the drawing is by task manager. This is the only program which is having a problem and it doesn't occur until the drawing is saved or "save as". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is the file opened first and then trying to save it or created from scratch and then trying to save what you have created?

File is opened, then when trying to save the computer just freezes up. No error messages. User says he received a "low virtual memory" error last week. When Autocad is open, other programs are affected. I tried reseating RAM and have ordered more, since he needs that anyway.

Make sure there is more than 100 mb free on hard drive. AutoCAD balks when space gets low.

Just verified there is over 25 GB hard drive space available.

A few things.

Is the location a mapped local location?

Are you running the latest service pack?

Try setting the number of recently opened files in the options to 0. See what happens.

Location is not mapped. Everything is local. All applications and OS are up-to-date. Increased virtual memory and everything seems ok. Also set the number of recently opened files to 0. I think it's resolved. Many thanks.
