Exchange 2007 CAS cannot copy the OAB from the OAB share on Windows Server 2008-based Exchange 2007 CCR clusters

I have two Exchange 2007 SP1 HUB/CAS server with CAS server NLB configured.
also two Mailbox servers with CCR configured. Base OS for all Exchange servers is windows server 2008 entprise edition. All Exchange servers are installed with update Rollup pack 7. Now I am getting a warning event 1021 on HUB/CAS server 1. which states that "Exchange 2007 CAS cannot copy the OAB from the OAB share on Windows Server 2008-based Exchange 2007 CCR clusters". Now as per microsoft this is a known issue & this will get resolved with Rollup update pack 5.
Now, my query is that do we can install two rollup update simultaneouly
I have tried to install rollup update 5 (rollup update7 is already installed) in my POC lab but it will
corrupt OWA, due to which Exchange 2007 mailboxes can not be accessible through /exchange virtual directory.
And do we have any separate patch to resolve this event 1021
Kindly help for the same.

Hi,

If you have already installed rollup 7 then you do not have to install Rollup 5 as Roll 7 will contain all the files that were on Rollup 5. As for the event ID 1021 this is a bug that appears when running an Exchange Cluster on Windows Server 2008. Refer the following blog for clarifications

Hi Imran,

As already states that Update Rollup 7 is installed on all four servers. But even though I am getting the same error. and if you go through detailed description of Exchange 2007 sp1 rollupdate pack 7,  you will find that it not include the update for event 1021.

Then in that case u will have to uninstall update rollup 7 then install rollup5 and then re-install rollup7. If you install directly install rollup 5 on Rollup 7 that would break your exchage.

Are you sure that uninstalling an update rollup 7 & installing update rollup 5 will not cause any issue because in my POC lab, I have done the same mistake that w/o uninstall update rollup 7 I have installed rollup 5 which causes that my Exchange 2007 mailboxes can not be accessible through /Exchange directory.
Don't mind have u ever tried this type of case.
2nd do we can keep two rollup update pack simultaneously

Yes we can keep multiple rollups on the same server. I have done this a couple of times but not on a CCR cluster

one thing more that removing a n rollup date will cause any harm on IIS services?

ikshf143Commented:
That is an Exchange Rollup so it will not harm your IIS but I believe you must be aware that when you are doing this your Exchange services will be stopped and disabled and you might want to reboot the server

This problem has been resolved by installing a Hotfix KB933755 w/o ununstallng Exchange 2007 Rollup update 7
