Can I Pair a Nvidia 8800 GTS And 8800GT Together In A SLI Configuration?

Hey Guys -

The title explains it all!

I had 2 8800GTS cards in a SLI and one died. Even after an OS reinstall, it still cannot start and don't really know what else to do.  I do, however, have a spare 8800GT.

What  do you all think?

You can try, What you may need to do is to flash the 8800gts into a 8800GT so that the MB and drivers think you have 2 of the same cards.
one more thing, the 8800gts that died may be under warranty, see if you can get a replacement from the manufacturer.
I don't think this is going to work, because the 8800GTS and the 8800GT have different specs - stream processors, available RAM, and bus width.  SLI requires identical cards, unlike Crossfire.  See http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140&p=7
Cal is right, short answer is NO, those 2 cards will never work together.
First of all i would check if the dead card is still under warranty.

Since there are many different versions of the 8800 series, and you don't specify which cards you own, it is a bit hard to tell.

So could you post what version of the cards you got?

512MB, 256MB etc.?

And take it from there.
