Oracle 11g database mirroring

I have two Oracle 11g servers connected on two different locations. I would like to make a database mirror between these two servers.

So far I`ve only created a MS SQL Mirroring and would like to know more about Oracle mirroring. I  found an info. on the web that this task can be done with Data Guard.

Is this the best way ? Can you point me to some good tutorials / papers on, how to accomplish these task, since I am a beginner in Oracle database administration.

Thank you

There are many kind of mirrorings.

1. Materialized Views  - automatic refreshable snapshots of a target set of tables to remote databases.

2. Oracle Streams - automatic mirroring of databases

3. Data Guard - have a spare copy of the DB in case of failure

So you have to say what is the aim of the mirroring.
