Ok I'll try and make this as detailed as possible. We have an older Baystack 350T.

We have tried to connect is to the laptop via the rear 9-point, to our laptops 25-point. We have then rebooted in hyper-terminal to try and connect, used the settings 9600, 8, 1, 0...And then typing the command IP Configuration - but all we seem to get is an error message.

If someone could so kindly guide me through the entire process of connecting this prehistoric piece of equipment it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

OK So I HAVE to use a DB-9 to DB-9 cable, not a DB-9 to DB-25?

This looks extremely helpful so far...Will keep posted on progress...Thanks Gary

OK on the hyperterminal when we are running the test, it is just coming up with heaps of random characters...Are our properties wrong? I am pretty stumped, we are getting a response from the item though.
