How to stream a live webcam to a webpage

I am looking at setting up a web cam so that I can stream live video seminars/tutorials to my website. I've been searching around and have found various bits of software that will allow be to embed Windows Media Player into my site that then stream the video directly from the software on my computer.

I am looking for a more substantial way of doing this than relying on every user pulling straight from my local machine as I don't have the bandwidth to support many simultaneous viewers.

I have started looking into using an externally hosted Flash Media Streaming Server. Does anyone have any experience of this or could explain how to get the video from my webcam to my website via the Flash Media Streaming Server. (eg. what software do I need have on my local computer and how does it embed in the webpage?)

I would be very grateful of any information.

you should definately try active webcam....

the great feature is that you can stream video to there web server and then ppl can access there webserver and view the stream...as they say in there page

"Stream Video and Audio through Web Server - you can watch video from surveillance computer even if this computer completely protected by firewall. Also this service provides high frame-rate broadcasting to the unlimited auditory because broadcasting is performed from our web server which has high speed broadband connection."
