network service not getting started

I updated windows all the patches and removed antivirus for reinstallation.
After restarting the pc 'network connection services'  is not getting started.
it is showing  "Could not start the network connections services on local computer.
Error 127: The specified procedure could not be found." when I tried to start.
No icons are there in network connections.

Thanks

Hm could be an internal windows error most likely, can you try a system restore? or maybe even a repair.

What antivirus program did you have installed ?

Muhammed:

Ok, I have seen MANY issues with Symantec endpoint causing problems such as this. Don't get me wrong, it is a great program, however sometimes it can cause problems.

Try running the tool located at the link below:

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2007080716174339?Open&docid=2005033108162039&nsf=tsgeninfo.nsf&view=docid

The tool on this website is a Symantec sponsored tool for corrupt, damaged, or otherwise faulty Symantec/Norton products. Give it a try and see if it helps at all.

You can also try (after running the tool) the following commands in Command Prompt:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txtnetsh winsock reset

These commands will reset your Windows TCP/IP networking stack.

If this doesn't work, it may be necessary to repair your Windows installation. Unfortunately this can just happen sometimes.

Let me know how this turns out for you.

Best of luck,
-Yegs
