user permission dbo

When you alias a login to dbo for a database then the user has also permissions to create additional datafiles for that database or to expand the database.

Is it possible to give a user permission so that he can create tables, views, sp's, ...
But not the permission to adjust the database itself ? For me this is more a serverwide permission than a database permission only.

Then don't give the user dbo privileges.
Simply run "grant select, update, delete, insert, create on schema::[dbo];" (minus quotes).
Have a beutiful day & God bless,

Here's the command you should execute after creating the mapping on the account on to the that database.
This will definitely grant the user database permissions.
It's worth it to avoid server level roles like sysadmin. This will elevate the user to do anything on the instance.
Grant the user the default (public) role.
All the best.

grant select, insert, update, delete, execute, control on schema::[dbo] to [dblogin];
