Displaying Filtered View of Site Collection Documents in multiple related sub-sites

I am trying to deploy a central library using a site collection document library.  One Attribute is Business Unit; another is Secondary Business Units.  Both are single-choice (Drop-down).  I was to display the view results in sub-sites [documents related to Business Unit, displayed in that business unit sub-site

Data View Webpart (DVWP) is your solution. In your sub-sites insert a DVWP (using Sharepoint Designer (SPD) which is free) that points to the document library in the "Home" page and filter it based on the column value.
