assign a dynamically created control as a trigger for vb.net updatePanel

I have an updatePanel where I wish to assign an AsyncPostBackTrigger where the control ID will be for a 'range' of dynamically created linkbuttons.

Basically it is a menu which each item is a linkButton, when clicked content will be loaded bassed on the link clicked.  I have an updatePanel surrounding the links generated and an updatePanel surrounding the content that will be displayed.  These cannot belong to the same panel do to postback reasons.

If any one knows how to assign a group of dynamically created linkbuttons as a trigger to an updatePanel it would be much appreciated.

Do like this.

        AsyncPostBackTrigger trigger= new AsyncPostBackTrigger(();
        trigger.ControlID=LinkButton1.ID;
        trigger.EventName="Click";

        UpdatePanel1.Triggers.Add(trigger);
