How to back up the DNS service on a DC

Can the information contained in the DNS server be backed up to avoid having to rebuild it all by hand?
What is the best way to prepare for DNS failure, or loss of the DNS host server?

If you have AD integrated zones then DNS will be backed with AD.

Right-click your DNS zone then go to Properties it will tell you there.

Also I would like the option of just restoring the DNS and not restoring the entire AD.
