Inserting field causes Crystal Report to bomb

I have an old Crystal report that I am looking to modify ...when I go to add a field the report closes without warning.  I checked the knowledge base ...there was a simiilar question but it cannot be viewed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lucy

This usually indicates that you have a bad link in the database which is causing too many results to be returned overloading memory.

Is it the 1st field you have used from that particular table? If so, it's almost definitely a bad table link as the links aren't enforced (by default) unless at least one field is used.

As before, are you including the 1st field from a new table?

No, but the table has been updated to include  new fields.  I have checked database location and it is pointing to the correct test database. I have verified the dat base and nothing bombs.

Try adding a different (currently unused) field from the same table and let me know if it still bombs

Try to verify the database.  That is how Crystal gets the database changes

Open the report
Click DATABASE --> VERIFY DATABASE

Hi,

I decided to try other reports and got the same error.

I came to the conclusion that perhaps the peopletools connection was whacky or that my crystal app had suddenly become corrupt.

And ti was the latter that caused the issue.

Thanks for you replies,

Lucy
