How do I write a where clause with uppercase

select name from xyz where UPPERCASE TABLENAME ='ABC'

    select name from xyz where upper(TABLENAME) ='ABC'

    now, if you want to compare case sensitive, you have to convert to varbinary first...
    please clarify
