How can I upload 1gb+ files?

I have an upload form which requests file (browse), height, width and length which are entered manually.

I am using CFFILE and have hit a memory limitation when trying to upload large files, up to 1gb and over.

I have read about using Java to do the upload instead of using CFFILE, but I cannot find some example code to work with. Does anyone have a solution that I can easily incorporate into my existing code? (ie. Replaces CFFILE with a working alternative)

Alternative suggestions are welcome

Thanks, Dan

Use some kind of FTP solution

I'm having a look Murali thanks, I'll come back with whether it's a solution I can implement.

FTP is a last resort, I'd rather minimise the development. If I can just replace the upload code as oppose to rethinking the entire logic of the page, it would be preferable.

This is because data about the uploads is stored in the database.

I'm sorry, I don't understand how I would implement the solution to work with my coldfusion application.

Is there a java container within the coldfusion server that I can store java class files?

SidFishes - thanks, I will promote the upgrade of coldfusion 8
