Using shared office calendar as default Outlokk 2007 calendar

Hi experts.

I am running Outlook 2007 in an exchange environment, currently using Outlook's default settings to store messages on exchange and using cached mode.

We run a communal shared calendar into which all appointments go. This is under 'Public Folders'.

I would like this calendar to be my default calendar, so that any invites go into it and so that it is synched to my iPhone (which only picks up my personal and unused calendar).

After a bit of Googling, I couldn't find an elegant solution to this. If this is not possible, perhaps I can get my personal calendar to synch with the shared calendar, so that anything that goes into one goes into the other automatically.

    Accepted Solution

    Not possible.
Outlook is designed as a PIM, and all invites etc will only go to the default calendar in your own mailbox. The same is true for Contacts.
ActiveSync will only sync with mailbox items, there is no support for anything connected with public folders.

There are sync applications, such as Add2Exchange from diditbetter, but there are no free options for getting items from your personal folder to a public one.
