SBS2008 Roaming Profile/Folder Redirection Issues.
I have switched off folder redirection on an SBS2008 box (6 Users on site), as their Terminal Services profile on a Terminal Server match their SBS profiles. This is causing issues as users are getting confused as to which they are logged into as they are both identical. However, although I have switched off Folder Redirection, any changes made to either profile is mirroring to the other.
Whats going on? is there something in SBS2008 other that folder redirection that is causing this?
FYI I have used Group policy to fix folder redirection to the local profile path.

Hi Philip,
Basically we enable Folder Redirection as standard for the reasons you stated but this customer, doesn't like having the same look and feel on both the Workstation & the TS server. His users seem to get confused when both systems look the same (I.e they think they are on the TS server when they are on their pc and vice versa).
Therefore due to this I unchecked the Desktop folder redirection option directly in the SBS Console under Users.
As most of these settings are just a pretty interface for GPO I went and checked the actually GPO, which had no settings to redirect the desktop only the My Documents folders as planned and set.
Due to that I have manually set a policy that redirects the desktop folder to the users local profile path, but not even this stops the folder redirection.
Its just confusing me as to where this can still be set as I cant find it anywhere.

We had to recreate to users profiles once this was done the profiles started working correctly.
What do you mean by confused?
Perhaps having BGInfo from SysInternals published as the desktop background would eliminate that.

Redirection is a good thing for users that are required to connect to TS and workstations within the org. It keeps things easy to administer and also provides a central location for backup purposes.
If the users connecting to TS are the only ones, then put them into a TS OU different from SBSUsers and enforce a GPO to customize their folder redirection settings.
