How do I backup Spool File data with the RUNBCKUP command?

The ability to save spool file data with the SAVLIB and SAVOBJ commands was added in v5r4 of OS/400.  The new SPLFDTA parameter can be either *ALL or *NONE (which is the default).

I want to include spool file data in the RUNBCKUP command.  I have so far been unable to specify that SPLFDTA should be *ALL for the SAVLIB/SAVOBJ commands that RUNBCKUP undoubtedly performs.

Has anyone managed to get this to work?

Many Thanks

I don't know of a way to directly specify it as a backup option.  My suggestion is to use the  exit program to do a separate SAVOBJ of the specific output queues you want to save, specifying the SPLFDTA(*ALL) option.

Here's an template for the op assist backup exit program:http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/index.jsp?topic=/apis/apiexusback.htm

You specify the exit program on the CHGBCKUP EXITPGM option,
