Cisco ASA blocks access to outside interface requests coming from inside interface.

Hi all,

I hope to come away with an answer to this.  For a long time I've been dealing with cisco firewalls but I've always had one issue.  The users on the inside cannot access our own public ip.  For example, we have our own exchange server and a block of 8 static public ips.  One of the ips is assigned to the exchange server and it goes to let's say and dns resolves this domain to ip x.x.x.x (public).  Why is it that i cannot access from the inside interface of the cisco firewall?
