Crystal Reports - Sorting on Running Total Field???

I have a report where my DETAILS section is hidden so that only GROUP RUNNING totals are displayed for my report/time period. I want to do a descending order sort based on the RUNNING TOTAL, can this be done and if so, how?

You can't.

Running totals are calculated after sorting is done.

WHat is the running total?  Can you use a summary function instead?

I did a running total on the number of cases for a defined period of time (Q208 - Q308) and then GROUPED on the CUSTOMER.  From the GROUP FOOTER, I display the TOTAL (Running or Summary - I did a summary and this seems to match the Running total but I'm not sure how to set the SORT based on the SUMMARY in the GROUP FOOTER.

Am I following you? I defined the SUMMARY on NUMBER of CASES and placed that in the GROUP FOOTER

Use the GROUP SORT EXPERT
Click REPORT --> GROUP SORT EXPERT
Choose the group you want sorted
Set it to ALL from No SOrt
Choose the summary field
