OCS 2007 R2 A/V Conferencing

Hello Experts,

Live Meeting 2007 isn't allowing for video.  The exact message is "Computer video is not available for this meeting".

So here's a little background on our setup.  The setup is OCS 2007 Standard R2 with no outside access.  First had an OCS 2007 Std server crash and rebuilt it.  I had to use adsiedit to remove the old OCS entries from AD.  (Microsoft walked me through that)  Current server is OCS 2007 Std R2 64bit and it seems to be working perfectly except for the AV Conferencing Server.

As mentioned, Live Meetings no longer displays any video and states that video is not available for this meeting.  Also, we cannot have three or more users sharing webcams.  However, video calls between only two people work just fine.  I get two repeating error msgs in the event viewer.

The A/V Conferencing Server validates without any errors, and I've tried practically every setting on the A/V conferencing.  I haven't seen these error msgs on the net anywhere so there really isn't much I have tried.  I've tried directing IE to the website that is being called "https://va-ocsxxxx.domain.local:444/liveserver/avmcu/" and I get the generic Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage, which I'm not sure if that's what I should be getting or not.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yes this has been enabled.  Also, IP Audio and IP video are enabled at the bottom of this page.  The only things not selected are Allow presenter to record meetings and Enable PSTN conference dial-in

well according to your error log it hasnt! is the default policy allocated to these users?
if so, your next step is to use debug logging (and the snooper tool from the reskit) to get more information about the failure.

I set up a logging session on the AVMCU and then tried to open a Live Meeting session.  I also tried a video call between 3 people (which generates this error An error occurred while trying to start the conference. More details (ID:3110)).  I then coverted the file to a .csv using tracerpt and I've attached it.  I have no idea if this file means anything to you, but it's just hex. garbage to me.

My guess is that I'm not familiar enough with the debugging tool to have it be useful to me.  Also, the snooper tool is looking for log files, but I'm not sure where OCS keeps its log files.  Any ideas?

in the ocs admin tool, navigate to your pool, right click, logging, new debug session
Select the appropiate logging catagories (avmcu etc) - will log by default to C:\windows\tracing, after your finished, select analyse.
These logs are plain text, snooper just helps with sorting the info.... im not quite sure what logs you are referring to sorry.

This is the first time that I've seen an error message stating the the conference can't be creatd bc both audio and vieo arent allowed.  I'm going to look this up on the net, but have you any more ideas on this?

BTW you've been extremely helpful and am very grateful!

Not sure what was changed.  I restarted the AV service, then ran the validation wizard again...

I know what it was.. I had to restart the service after setting the policy..

Thanks for your help, you had it right from the get go.
