Oracle 11g oracle Universal installer is hung at 44%

Experts,

I have a VMware Server with Linux Red Hat installed. I have plenty of space for the Oracle 11g install and it passed all of the installation requirements in the beginning of the install. It is now hung at 44%? I looked at the CPU and it looks like the install is moving however it's been about an hour? How do I know if the system is truely hung?

I looked in the install logs and found orainstall error:
Java.util.zip exception invalid entry size expected 277888 but got 277893. Would this cause the install to hang?

looks like you've not allocated required space for oracle to install.
Uninstall oracle and start installing it again.

How do I recover from a failed Oracle11g install? The installation did not complete because of the Java error, but the db1 directory and other directories were created. How do I delete all of that, fix the problem then start a fresh install? Hopefully I don't need to start from the beginning....pre installation settings...

Thanks, Missymadi

Check the first you have enough disk space. How much space do you have on this server?
You need 1GB RAM minimum for 11g. Atleast 20 GB for the database.
Are you installing RAC or single instance?

I suspect eroneos installation kit. Download it again and unzip carefully.
Possibly you can try to compare the checksum code published on the Oracle site to make sure everything is OK.

To uninstall Oracle either use again OUI and deinstall or as alternative simply drop the oracle directories and the oracleinventory and begin the installation from scratch.

experts,

I have 20gig allocated on VMserver for Oracle db. And I have 1024 for Memory and I'm still getting an error on install that Java cannot allocate memory. Does this mean that I need to increase the hd space or the 1024 RAM. I tried increasing the RAM to a higher setting but then that caused swapping error upon Oracle requirements for swap space on install. If I need to increase drive space does that mean I need to start with a new VM?
Thanks, Missymadi

BTW is your default firewall off?

The RAM and the HD space is enough to install.
A prerequisite was to have resolution of some extent (I can not recall,
but like 32000 colors) of the screen. Check also this.

What was the issue I'm just curious to know?
