Slowing down playback in a media player

How can I slow down playback in iTunes, Windows Media Player, Rhapsody or any other playback apps?  I'm trying to take dictation off a CD, and I really need to slow the speaker's talking speed. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks!

on CD may not be possible to slow it down.
Windows Media Player open now playing>VIEW>Enhancements>Play Speed settings
Don't know for Itunes or Rhapsody
There is also media player classic

play the audio track then go to the Play Tab on top click on  decrease, that will slow the narration, however it may become a bit garbled.
Or you could just pause the tracks.
Windows xp has inbuilt speech recognition
