Mcafee viruscan 8.7 fallback repository not working

Mcafee virusscan 8.7 with Agent 4.0 installed on all client Pcs.
NaiHttp is set as a fallback repository for all clients.
Updating works fine when the EPO 4 server is connected to the network.
If however I disconnect the EPO server, the clients do not fallback to the Naihttp website
I get the error "unable to find a valid repository" and clients do not update defs.

For clients to connect to the mcafee http website they need a internet connection. You can configure mcafee to use the internet setting of the  browser of use it own configured internet settings.
With http://"computername":8081 (if default) you can see the mcafee log, maybe you can find there more information about why there is no connection possible to the repository.

I've already verfied that computers have an internet connection. Will post the mcafee log

What I would like to know is Does mcafee viruscann client by default connect to the nai http or nai ftp website when the EPO server cannot be contacted ?

That depends on the settings of the eposerver.
What update server are in the list and is the agent configured to follow the order of the list or by ping speed.

I figured it out
Problem was that I had a task that pushed reinstallation of Viruscan to clients every agent enforcement period. This probably overwritten the update settings.
Once I removed this task, clients went to the fallback repositories when the epo is offline.
