Email getting queued on local delivery

Hi,

I have exchange 2003 -SP2 on my organisation. When any one sends email from outside, it comes to my mail relay gateway server (solaris 8 runs with sendmail) and my mail relay gateway hand overs to my local email forwarder server (solaris 8 - runs with sendmail.) and my local email forwarder server will delivers to my exchange server which has alluser email boxes. Actuall my local email forwarder has some hardware issue, so i configured one more new hardware server with same funtions and configuration . I repalced the new hardware with old hardware.

During my test, when i sent email from my hotmail account to my work email address, it is coming to my mail realy server and mail realy server hadn overs to local email forwarder server. And my local email forwarder server delivers to my exchange server. After mails coming to my exchange server, it is sitting there in the queue. It is not delivering to my local email box.

But my outbound emails are working fine. For outbound my exhcnage server directly hand overs the email to my relay server through SMTP connector. After i put back my old mail forwarder server, my inbound emails are working fine. After some time all the mail in queue gave me NDR . Here is the error message,

I dont't know where i was making mistake. Is there any one faced this kind of problem. Please let me know what should i do to fix this issue.

Thanks,

Where do you get this NDR? ON HOTMAIL??
and you get this NDR even if you have put back the old mail forwarder server?

You can dismount the mailbox store and run isinteg for the database. There could a logical corruption in the database which would be causing the email to not to deliver to the store.

Thanks,

yes, i got this NDR on my hotmail and as well as on my outlook also, after i put back my orginal server. Until i put back my original server, the emails are in the queue only. After i put back my server, the email queue slowliy relasing the emails from the queue.

also check the application log and see if you get 327 error..
disable all the third party application on teh server and reboot it.
now test the same and let me know the results

I don't have any 327 error codes.

The only 3rd party software was "symantec End Point Protection", which i totally diabled and tried, but  no luck.

ON the registry :
HKLM\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROLSET\SERVICE\MICROSOFT\MICRISOFTEXCHANGE TRANSPORT\diagnostic
on the right side put all of them to 7...
restart the smtp service...
check if you are getting any event id error

I found the issue, there is sendmail configuration error, on sendmail.cf file DF parameter should have your local forwarder server name.
