IIS subdomain not working

I have a VPS, and I have set up two domains on it.  They both work find.  Butnow I have a client you does not yet have a domain name, so I tried to set up a sub domain, but it does not work.  I have been a software deeloper for 20 years, but I am new to the "sys admin" side of web development.

Here is the situation:

My domain http://www.inomax.net works fine.
The VPS has Plesk installed.
Using Plesk, I create a subdomain named http://sharon.inomax.net three days ago.
When I type http://sharon.inomax.net, the browser cannot find it.

Can anyone point out would I am missing?

Looks like you have got it added..

Host Type Value
sharon.inomax.net. A 69.77.187.254

This is the placeholder for subdomain sharon.inomax.net. If you see this page after uploading site content you probably have not replaced the index.html file.

No A records were found for sharon.inomax.net

You do not have a DNS record pointing to the domain..

I went to register.com.
Clicked on "inomax.net"
Clicked on "Edit IP Address Records" in the row for "A" records.
There were two records pointing to my VPS IP.  There were inomax.net and www.inomax.net
I added another to point to "sharon.inomax.net"
http://sharon.inomax.net is still not showing in my browser.  Will this take some time to populate through the servers on the internet? Or is there more I need to do?

Thank you so much for your help.

You need to add an A record to point to the IP of the VPS.

How long do you think it will take before it can be seen in a browser? 24 hours? 48 hours?
