I have a site i'm working on that is basically a digital portfolio using an XML based flash component from page-flip.com.  The portfolio has about 130 pages and is sized for large monitors only 1600x1200.  The problem here is the load speed.  Although the component begins caching when you open the book, it still needs some preloading and I'm not sure how to do that seeing that its a component and its XML based.  How can you help me?

i am sure the fact of the matter is that all the pre-loading script is built into the component at creation you would need control over the load process to get the desired effect your seeking.

but if that is not an option listed in the component properties. only the designers would be able to help you as they would have the raw data.

only way out i can think of is to place a time delay of the movie which looks like a pre-loader. which will give it a few extra secs to get a few things on stage before it is displayed.

PS

did it come with a instruction pdf or text file

I should try a time delay, I haven't thought about that.  What is the easiest way to create a time delay in AS2?  My scripting capabilities are pretty limited at the moment.
