How do I reset the Admin Password for an Avaya Partner system with a large PC voicemail card?

We have an Avaya Partner system with the large PC voicemail card. We are not sure how the Admin Password changed. It had happened once before after we had a powersurge. We used to have a very knowledgeable support tech with our vendor who had given us a "backdoor" password to reset the system. Unfortunatly we have had some staffing changes and that password cannot be found and the support tech is no longer with company. The only advice we seem to get is to call Avaya, which we have. The fee for Avaya support is compltely outrageous!!! Does anyone how we can get this password?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

What type of phone system are you using?

ASKER

It's an Avaya Partner R7.0. We do not have the large stand alone voicemail system, just the large PC voicemail card.
No, sorry that didn't help. They are user guides from Avaya. They say the same thing. If the default admin password (1234) doesn't work you need to call Avaya support.
I know on my phone/voicemail system, it takes numbers only for a password.  Does yours?
Yes. It's just so frustrating because we did have it at one time.
have you tried just using 4 ones or 5 ones for the pwd or maybe the pwd matches the former employees vm pwd.
was the pwd sent via email at one time?
We tried all of the standards that you think it might be. And no, the support tech we talked to just walked us through it the last time. Which was quite a few years ago. I'm starting to think that maybe our PC Card just went bad.
can you connect a console cable from your terminal to the phone switch?
