Hi,

Windows Server 2003 takes advantage of recent advances in computer hardware, including 64-bit processors, processor hyper-threading, and non-uniform memory access (NUMA). however, it is recommended that you use windows server 2008 for the purpose which has enhanced support for nonuniform memory architecture (NUMA) systems and systems with large pages, including additional device driver and Microsoft Win32® NUMA application program interfaces (APIs).

as regards your second query regarding hardware for the NUMA, you can use hardware of any OEM though IBM is the leader in the segment. you can select NUMA-Q server range based on the cost and requirement

Thanks!

It's a Regular installation of windows ? and the hardware is Special ? and the most important is the applicaiton to be "know" to use this architecture ?

yes, it is a regular installation but the hardware is special

the application need not be aware of the underlying hardware as OS handles the application management tasks.
