How to Script a mail enabled user to utilize a contact as a forwarder

I need help creating a script to allow me to add a "Forwarding Address" on a 1000 users. Does anyone have any ideas?

Currently utilizing Exchange 2003 and Active Directory 2003.

Is it the same forwarding address or a different address for all 1,000 users?

it's he same forwarding address <first name>.<last name>@<domain name.com>

I have a script to create the contacts, but I don't know how to add the contact in the AD account to the "Forwarding Address" field and enable the check box to allow email to be sent to both accounts (local email and the forwarding email).

I also have a list from AD of the users that I need to create contacts for...

I don't have exchange on my test box right not so I can't fully test but admodify may help

We are going to delete the contact on the source and create a contact with an internal and external address....http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;555187

...and thanks to TigerMatt for setting me straight here, has to be forwarded to a contact first.
that is why I had to test.
TigerMatt -- THANKYOU!!!
...and to anyone that may see this that has power...how can someone be that far ahead in the W2K8 section and not have his MVP for Servers :)

I found out the only problem with this, it doesn't modify/add/remove the "forwarding to" address.
