Outlook will not auto close an email when "close original message" is checked in options

Hi,  I have a user in my office who has the option "close original message on reply or forward" selected in Outlook 2007's options, but it doesn't work.  I checked it on my machine and it worked just fine so I don't think there's anything in our Group Policy that would be controlling it.  I've tried unchecking and rechecking it on her machine and it didn't help.  She ends up with 20+ open emails at the end of the day and I guess is too lazy to just close them manually.  Anyone know how I could fix this?  Thanks.

Try configuring the Outlook profile on a different machine it will us an idea if there is an issue with the machine or the Group Policy which is causing the issue?
