Can .NET Remoting mimic a scripting PHP page?

Hello experts.  I've got a phone system that can send values to a web page which in turn scripts a response back to it.  Problem is that the PHP page resides outside of our system and I'd like it to reside inside.  The other issue is, it seems like a lot of hassle to be hosting a website to handle the posts and responses from the system and I'm wondering if there is such a type of visual basic program that can be made to do the same work?

I've heard of .NET Remoting and I'm wondering if that would suit what I need and if so, is there a real world example out there?

Thanks a bunch

Remoting is a client/server technology which allows clients to instantiate objects on server and utilize them. Its like execute code remotely on a remote server. You could use remoting in your scenario but i think a more suitable option would be to use ASP.NET Webservices. These services are easy to host and could even be hosted on SQL Server.
