windows explorer restarts after connecting to mapped drive in sbs 2008

I recently setup a new SBS 2008 server.  After connecting several new Vista computers the users cannot access the mapped drives on the server.  When the mapped drive is accessed for the first time windows explorer will restart.  Then subsequest attempts to open the mapped drive result in an error "the local device name is alreay in use".  The drive maps were created manually.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The issue has been resolved.  I worked with Microsoft sbs support.  They suggested that I apply a hotfix # 255818.  Here is the link:
