SQL Server alert when agent is not running

Hi experts,

I had the problem that the sql agent on my sql server wasn't running. Luckily it was just a test server but it made me aware how important it is to receive a notification when the agent stopps running for some reason.
I've had a look at the "Alert" options in the sql server management studio. But I couldn't get it to work. Can someone help me out?

Thanks

once your Agent stops working than how could it be able to send you alert?

You'll need to go with a Third Party Monitoring Tool.  I don't have any specific recommendations as this has not been a concern for me.

Best of Luck,
