i would absolutely contact Microsoft about this. To be honest i dont know what they will do to remedy the situation but they should do something. I wouldnt worry about getting in trouble although going forward def take some steps to block a user from getting the key...remove from side of machine if its there, make sure they cant run a program to check, etc....
Are these PC's that have been bought from a vendor with XP pre-installed or do you have a volume license and use the same key on multiple computers? might be easier to deal with them if its a volume license key

i couldnt find a telephone number but im sure there is one, here are two emails though that i could find..

also use some discretion, if its a rampant issue with this info showing up all over the place and multiple keys then contact them...otherwise dont worry about it, you will have to call if you format and activate probably but no big deal if you are the legit owner they will work it out with you...After all with 7 right around the corner i doubt they care much about some XP keys
