SQL Server backup

I want to perform a back of a database after hours. so what are the exact steps. i need to know because this is a very important database and big in size also. so please need the exact steps to do a backup. Any help is appreciated.

what kind of backup?  if full, then:

backup database dbname
to disk = 'c:\backupfile.bak'

are you referring to trans log backups?

i do not know what kind of backup was told to backup so i want to do full backup............

                    for taking full backup , you have take backup type = "FULL", mark the 2nd figure of the below link
