What is the best asyncronous IPC for my visual c++ applications running on the same PC?

I have two visual c++ applicatons. They run on the same machine. I need asyncronous IPC between these two processes. Which is the best way to do this?

I have not used this library myself, but usually the Boost libraries are very good (they undergo a thorough peer-review)
