the most simple solution is something like:

<div style="width:100px;height:400px;overflow:auto;">
<!-- insert your scrollable content here -->
</div>

is that what you are looking for?

Why not like this? You create a <div> the you place html inside the div. The div acts as a container. So you can always do want you want with them. So the above would be good in a div.

In CSS you would have it as overflow:hidden; You can hide and display them how you want.

overflow:auto just displays them when the content exceeds the height specified on the div. overflow:hidden just omits them completely.
