Optiplex GX620 (Dell mini Tower)

I have a Optiplex GX620 (Dell mini Tower), I have purched a second Harddrive (SATA) and installed it in my desktop, but there was no response it did not identifiy the Harddrive.

Is there somthing I have to do inorder for the Harddrive to be identified by PC?

Did you check to confirm it's not shown in Disk Management?   You have to initialize it and then format it before it will be seen as a drive letter.

Right-click on My Computer; Select Manage; then click on Disk Management.   If it's recognized, it should give you an initialization prompt => just accept the defaults (do NOT convert it to a Dynamic drive);  then create a partition and format it and all will be well.

If it's not seen in Disk Management, boot to the BIOS setup program and be sure you have all of your SATA ports enabled => you may have plugged it into a port that's not enabled.

... and finally -- just to be sure -- you DID plug in not only the data cable but also a power cable ... right?
