I need IE default paper size to be Letter rather than A4 - how do i achieve this? I've set the printer defaults to Letter but IE seems to over ride them.

As far as I know if you set default page on your default printer to be letter it should do. If it's not try to reinstall your printer driver.

Setting the printing defaults may need to be done in several areas:
Go to the printers window:
Properties of Printer, Device Settings, Set Trays as they should be (i.e. Letter or whatever), Apply.
Go to the Advanced Tab (of printer properties), Click Printing Defaults, Click Advanced, Change Paper size to Letter, Ok, Ok etc
Go to properties of printer again, on the general tab, click printing preferences, select Advanced, change paper size again (if its not already set)

If IE is running, close it and start it again. Should work. It did for me.
