Shadow Copy Provider service marked for deletion?

Shadow Copy Provider Service can not be started on my Win 2k3 Server box. I am trying to diagnose a VSS problem and when I tried to start the MS Software Shadow Copy Provider service I received the error message saying the Specified Service has been marked for Deletion.

How can I stop it from being marked for deletion or at least re install it?

Thoughts?

Marked for deletion means.. you service is dead..
Reboot the machine and the service should be gone from the services list..

There was no way to stop it from deleting. I had to reregister EVERY VSS dll file and it came back to life.
