I am creating a report in crystal and would like a custom field that takes an existing long text field from the database and only shows the text before the first three Asterisks(***) that the text field has. Would you be able to help me with the formula. Thanks.

What version of Crystal?
CR8 and before can only have strings of length 256.

If it is CR9 or later this should work
