Im new to hit testing. What I would like to do is to have two movie clips placed directly side by side (left movie clip and right movie clip). Left movie clip would activitae both itself and rght movie clip to fade in when rolled over. The right movie clip could not activte either clips. Once activated by the left clip both clips will remain active whilst rolling over the right clip. If the user rolls out of the right clip back into the left, the left clip would remain active and right would then become inactive. If the user roller of the right clip and not back onto the left both would become inactive. If the user rolled off the left and not onto the right both would become inactive. Iguess Im making a roll over menu triggered by a main nav button,

I'm visualising what you are talking about here...and it is far from impossible...If anything it is just a pain in the ass.

try this guys tutorial. It's based more at gams I think but still does the job in explaining the functionality.
