Using VLC in Visual Basic 2008

I want to use the VLC player to play mpeg2 files in my vb.net program.  I'm new to VB.NET and when I tried using the VLC ActiveX control, I get "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference".  Also, is there a better way to use VLC instead of the ActiveX control or is it ok to still use that in .NET.  Thank you, Ron

It looks like you have to create an instance of the VLCPlugin object rather than using Shared methods. Try something like this:
Dim vlc As New AXVLC.VLCPlugin()
vlc.addTarget(edOutput.Text, , VLCPlaylistMode.VLCPlayListReplace, 0)

Open in new window
