Printers

Here's my dilemma: I had a HP laser printer connected to my iMac.  I removed that printer and installed a Brother networking printer.  Brother printer works fine on iMac.  So, I started VMWare, and didn't notice that the old printer was still there, and the Brother was not, and I submitted a job to the printer, and now that job is stuck in the queue.

I upgraded VMWare to the latest version, and all of a sudden, the Brother printer is now showing (running XP SP2 by the way).

My problem is I have a print job waiting in the HP queue that I would somehow like to transfer to the Brother queue.  Is this possible?

I think the best way would be to delete the HP printer and queue and reprint the job on the Brother. Transferring jobs between incompatable printers may not even be possible, but most assuredly would be a time-waster. Just reprint. ... Thinkpads_User

I didn't mention that this was a Stamps.com print job, printing $11 worth of stamps!

Even so, assuming it could be done, which I doubt, to spend 15 minutes on such a job (optomistic estimate), your time is worth more than the stamps. Even now, if you could hook up the old printer, it might not even print correctly (print queues have a bad habit corrupting when they cannot find their bearings). ... Thinkpads_User.
